7 years on from my first comment. Wow. Time flies and yet ‘Crystal Flash’ remains a timeless masterpiece. Listening HARD right now. Takes me back both 7 and 17 years. Still insanely cool. Still the best piece of video game music remixing I have ever heard, by a considerable margin.

Virt, thank you, thank you, thank you, again, for this beautiful sonic perfection of the music of super metroid. Thank you.

I would like to personally declare this the new “Escape” theme for the original Metroid. It would seriously rock ass to hear the end credits of Super Metroid used like that in a rom hack or something. Especially the way you did it.

First of all let me just say congratulations, this is a most excellent piece, you’ve really shown your talent in dynamic music writing and personal artistic flare. Many times as a musician I picture some awesome things musically in my head, and with the themes you’ve layed out here, you’ve really touched on some stuff I think is really awesome. Guitar as it was meant to be played.

Second, I was wondering if you have a tab of any of this monster piece? I don’t know if you just learned some melodies and embellished or actually scripted it all out.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but have you or some third party tried to actually tab out what you’ve done here?

Wow. This is the best thing I have ever heard ever. This may be due to somewhere between 30-40 hours without sleep(Stopped counting/caring), or this may also be your ridiculously amazing skills at simply everything music related.

I can only wish that one day I will be able to masterfully construct an epic such as this one day. When that time comes I, too, can join you among the Gods of Kicking Ass Forever.

Have you ever seen the God of Rock from Guitar Hero 3? Because that’s you. You are so badass they put you in a video game.

Every Chuck Norris one-liner ever should be re-printed and have “Virt” Replace The “Chuck” Part. The “Norris” can stay because you are so awesome you deserve the last name of a Texas Ranger.

I wish. This is the first year Metroid Metal is playing (yessssssss), so they’re in charge of Metroid awesomeness this year — not that more isn’t better. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to learn it this year; My whole moving and rebooting my life thing.. sorta prevented it. :(

Crystal Flash I listen to the whole piece when I sometimes want to revist past,every so often. Like when I played through super metroid for the first time.
Crystal flash all the parts are interwoven amazingly, it is all organic and natural,the threads are the sound that make a tapestry beyond the original.
Man,the mellow atmosphere of the acoustic guitar with the bass in maridia, wow, the best.

If I have only come to realise sometime ago it is one of the greatest video game remixes ever.To me Crystal has something none other remix has it can transport me back in time making it timeless, it is the game in sound and more and true to the game,with many different moods and atmospheres and original ideas that all work,all at the same time.
Jake is one of the leaders I look to when I get lost in this mad world,and Virt is also a master ninja of many arts.

Also amazing new website,there is many things great to say about all your music.
Just here to say have a great Xmas and a great new year.And oneday I am going to make MAGFEST. Also your new Gym track reminds of the style of some bits in Transformers cartoon movie and Dune. It is wicked made me smile the whole time I listened to it.Sorry it has got a bit long,yeah cool man and best reagrds.
