Legend of Kay
Posted by virt on February 16th, 2005 filed in Generalbig update today. four new arrangements!
The Legend of Kay, which is my first large-scale console title, is out in europe! you can order it by following the links on the official website in the uk and germany.
i’m not sure what the north american release schedule looks like, but hopefully it will come out here soon too. i’ve been sent a copy of the european version, so i’ll have to use a ps2 mod to play it (it has an NTSC option, in case you want to import), but i can’t wait.
in other news, i’m currently in calgary for the next couple of weeks, working on more goodness with orbital media. their first game, Racing Gears Advance, has just been released for the GBA, and while i didn’t do the music (it’s by neil voss, the badass who scored tetrisphere), the game is very smooth and these guys are super talented.
shame it’s up in the frozen north, eh? (it’s actually warmer than baltimore right now, though that could change at any second).

It’s ever-impressive to hear your progress. I’ve been a long time listener of your work, but haven’t commented until now. I’m excited see that dreams and visions are starting to be fulfilled in your life; keep working toward them. It’s also cool that you worked with Neil Voss, I spent many hours admiring the music in Tetrisphere.
I’ve made a link to your website from mine. Hopefully, my compositional skills can become as strong as yours. God bless!

thanks! i have no intention of halting my progress, as if i fail, i have no other marketable skills and will have to work at mcdonalds! this is a lot of fun, though. note that i didn’t get to work with neil; he worked for the company before i did, i’m just trying to fill his shoes on subsequent projects. not easy.

I live in Calgary too! I hope Orbital Media is paying for your stay. Well, even if they aren’t, at least Alberta has no provincial sales tax.
Oh, and while you’re here, you MUST go to Peters’ Drive-in:

Heh, I may be a bit late on this, but I hope you enjoyed Calgary. I particularly love your work on Scurge: Hive and hope someday you can upload it on this site, since I have had no luck tracking down a ripped copy of the game’s stunning score.
