FFXI Fans ROCK OUT!
Posted by virt on November 18th, 2007 filed in GeneralHI FRIENDS!
If you’re here because you saw us play at the Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival, Welcome! I’m virt, the keyboardist, and this is my personal homepage — we don’t have a band website yet, but I’m gonna make one soon.
We are the Smash Bros., and we play arrangements of awesome video game music from Castlevania to River City Ransom to Zelda — we live all over the country, are all composers and arrangers, and frequently jump up too fast in the Waterfall stage of Contra so the other guy dies, leading to fistfights and broken dreams. We play each year as the “house band” at MAGFest, the Music and Games Festival, in Virginia.
This was the first time we’ve played at such a big convention, and we had a BLAST! We know you were expecting the Star Onions, but thanks so much for rocking out with us — hope we scratched that itch. Also, wasn’t Ms. Tanioka awesome? I wish I could play like that.
We don’t have a CD yet, since this has just been a fun side project thus far, but we intend to record one soon! Keep checking back here, and I’ll let you know when we have something you can download or buy.
Hope to see you again soon!

hey kraison, i remember you! that was a hell of a concert last night, im glad you guys were able to enjoy it and it was a pleasure to play for a crowd like this. even though the con was specific to ffxi i still thought it was very comprehensive and i had a wonderful time playing with my brothers of smash!
for those of you who are asking about cd’s, if you would like to write me an email, i have cd’s of the ‘now youre playing with powar’ series that have a ton of final fantasy music on them. the most recent 2cd set now youre playing with powar 6 has i think 9 or 10 final fantasy songs.
i brought some cd’s, but most of them were given out to staff members, because they truly gave so much love to the convention in investing their time and hours of hard work, i think that the music i make as temp sound solutions is the kind of thing that is great to listen to in long travels. anyway, if anyone would like cd’s, feel free to email me. now i’m going to get some rest, im completely exhausted, and i even got good rest =D!

So will the album be conceptualized before or after live tracks from M3 – 5 are released?
Much love from the frozen north.
