Blip Festival 2007 – Status report
Posted by virt on December 1st, 2007 filed in GeneralGuys, I’ve been trying to liveblog every set like last year, but I’m having too much fun dancing around and hanging with people to sit around with a laptop during the show, and I’m too blown out when I get home to write a big report. HOWEVER, I am still going to post a day-by-day play-by-play on each act, just like last year (well, I think I forgot to finish Day 4?) — just gimme a little time to recuperate.
I played tonight. I just got home, my entire body is broken and battered, and I need to be up in 6 hours to get back for the FM Synthesis workshop I’m giving. At the risk of sounding immodest, tonight was unquestionably my strongest performance ever. I seriously need to get in shape because my heart almost exploded during each song, because I was dancing my fool head off. The energy in that room was UNREAL. I will post all of the songs I played (and hopefully a straight board recording, when I get access to it). AND THE FESTIVAL IS ONLY HALF OVER. God, this rules.
I can’t thank everyone enough who came out tonight, old friends and new, to see me play among artists I so deeply admire. This was a sanity boost I desperately needed; been going through a lot of stressful times lately. I love you all, and I will keep sharing music as long as you will listen.

hell yeah man! i hope you drove that deloreon over people’s faces. it truly seems to me like you are coming into your own in live performance, and its something that means different things to different people. that being said, there is just nothing that compare to the sound of a man with a guitar and tons of low-bit glops and whatnot. cant wait to see you again in 5 weeks.

Congrats, man. I haven’t heard the show (bootleg or live streams), but it sounds like it was a blast for everybody. Hope to hear the new tunes soon.

You kicked some serious ass Friday night man, keep dancing hard and bring that energy to every performance. The second song you played blew me away, can’t wait to hear the set.

jesus christ, the show pwned. Everyone who commented with “I couldn’t make it” missed out on pure badassery. Great job, man. :O
